hart045

'34 Ford pickup.  Chopped top, body lengthened 2", supercharged 350 Chevy.

A story we were told about this car while touring the collection:

Pat Hart was dying from cancer and knew that he didn't have very long to live. He really wanted to see what was to be his very last car restoration project completed before he passed away.  It was the above black 1934 Ford pickup truck. His mechanic/restorer was frantically trying to get the project finished so Pat could go for a ride. Unfortunately he wasn't able to get it drivable until a day or so after Pat passed away.
They ended up placing Pat in his coffin and laying it in the bed of the truck. They wanted to give him a final and proper "ride" in his beautiful new truck. They tore down the freeway at breakneck speed, turned around and were racing back towards to the shop....when suddenly the transmission blew up!

The truck, along with Pat in the back, had to be towed back home....
