Speedo pictures!

Of course, I had to get a photo of the speedometer as it rolled over 400,000.  This wasn't easy as it happened on I-405 in the middle of rush hour traffic.  I was steering with my knees while keeping one eye on the road and the other eye looking through the camera viewfinder.  Naturally, the magic moment occurred not while on a city street or at a steady highway speed but as traffic was slowing down from 60mph down to stop and go.  But I managed to take the photos without smacking into any other cars.

Once again, the rollover happened while in freeway traffic, this time on Highway 16 just coming off the Tacoma Narrows bridge.  I was using my digital camera this time.  The auto-focus feature was handy to have so I didn't have to worry about focusing.  Being December, it was a bit cloudy so I had to use the flash to get a good picture.  I hope the flashing going on inside my car didn't distract my fellow drivers around me!

As with the other two photos, this milestone also happened in freeway traffic, this time heading southbound on I-5 around Dupont.  Dupont is halfway between Tacoma and Olympia.  Traffic was light so no other drivers were endangered as I concentrated on taking the picture!
